HIMOINSA has developed the equipment configuration to meet the requirements of a production Oil & Gas plant located in a remote forested area of Hodonín (100 km from Viena), in South Moravia (Czech Republic). As the area is isolated from the electricity grid, the facility required a primary power source capable of operating continuously using the gas available on-site, reducing operating costs and minimising maintenance interventions in a location that is difficult to access. To this end, the HGO-40 T5 NG/LPG model has been adapted to the specific conditions of the site and the characteristics of the fuel.

One of the main challenges of the project was to adapt the generator set to the gas available at the plant itself, the characteristics of which could be differ from those of a conventional natural gas supply during gas production.
HIMOINSA configured the HGO-40 T5 NG/LPG model to operate continuously with the raw gas available at the facility, ensuring the required power output and reducing reliance on external supplies. This solution makes use of a resource available on-site and directly contributes to reducing the plant’s operating costs.
The costly and logistically complex task of supplying fuel to the diesel generator has been completely eliminated.

The generator set incorporates a fully integrated remote control system, a feature that is particularly important for a plant located in a remote and hard-to-access area. This solution enables the equipment’s operation to be monitored remotely and reduces the need for technical staff to travel to the site.
“The main requirement of the project was to guarantee a continuous supply at an isolated and hard-to-access facility. The solution developed in collaboration with HIMOINSA has enabled us to adapt the equipment to the available gas, extend maintenance intervals and monitor its operation remotely,” explains Jakub Koniček, director of Solforen Plus s.r.o.
The remote location and continuous operation of the facility made it necessary to reduce scheduled downtime and the need for technical visits. To achieve this, HIMOINSA incorporated extended maintenance intervals, increasing the operating time between servicing and improving the equipment’s availability. In an off-grid application, this configuration is key to reducing OPEX and minimising the impact of servicing tasks on the production process.

The installation is situated in a forested area with high humidity and temperatures ranging from -20 °C to +40 °C. To adapt the generator set to these environmental conditions, HIMOINSA incorporated specific additional protection.
This configuration meets the site’s requirements and enables the equipment to be adapted to a location exposed to low temperatures, high humidity, high levels of airborne particulates, attacks by small wild animals and conditions typical of a forest environment.

The South Moravia project demonstrates HIMOINSA’s ability to develop gas-fuelled solutions tailored to industrial applications that are off-grid. The combination of raw gas, extended maintenance, remote control and protection against demanding environmental conditions ensures a reliable power source for an Oil & Gas plant situated in a remote location.
